Workshops

In November 2014  the Trust held a series of workshops on threatened species in the Great Victoria Desert. These workshops brought together scientific experts, land managers and community members to discuss the research and land management priorities for the threatened species.

The principal aims of the workshops were to:

  • Review existing knowledge about each species
  • Discuss knowledge gaps and prioritise research needs to address knowledge gaps
  • Discuss on-ground management actions associated with threat mitigation to ensure that the species persist in the Great Victoria Desert bioregion.

Outputs of the workshops:

  • Workshop summaries
  • Development of Research and Adaptive Management Plans to guide the funding of research activities and on-ground actions to ensure the conservation of the threatened species.
